FHIR Clinical Data Repository
Outcome Healthcare offers a state-of-the-art FHIR Clinical Data Repository (CDR) that is a fully managed, scalable, and secure service designed to store and manage healthcare data in the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standard. Compliant with both R4 and R5 standards, our FHIR CDR supports use cases around USCDI, US Core and IPS. Being fully managed, clients don’t have to worry about provisioning or maintaining the underlying infrastructure. In terms of scale, Outcome can support tens of thousands of operations per second. Lastly, the FHIR CDR supports all of the standard search parameters.
RESTful APIs: A core pillar for FHIR support are RESTful APIs, which enables standard FHIR operations like:
- Create: Adding new FHIR resources (e.g., Patient, Observation, Encounter).
- Read/Retrieve: Fetching specific FHIR resources by ID.
- Update/Patch: Modifying existing FHIR resources.
- Delete: Removing FHIR resources.
- Search: Querying for FHIR resources based on various parameters.
- History: Retrieving the history of a FHIR resource.
- Bulk Operations: It supports bulk import and export of FHIR data, making it efficient to migrate large datasets or share data with other systems.
Ingested FHIR Data is automatically replicated to our data warehouse, for high-performance analytics and fast query responses using SQL against the FHIR data model. This optimized relational data model aligns with FHIR resources and enables complex queries.

Clinical Data Experts for Over 15 Years
Each FHIR resource has a unique identifier for straightforward retrieval and linking, supporting intuitive navigation through patient records, complemented by a hierarchical structure for easy navigation from high-level to specific resources. The system maintains an audit log for performance tracking and issue identification, and integrates with third-party tools for seamless interoperability. Additionally, the CDR offers user-friendly interfaces for easy data management and provides comprehensive online documentation and training resources to assist users in understanding the FHIR data model.
